Optimesa utilizes industry proven methodologies, providing you with confidence your design will meet requirements. These time tested tools and processes have been employed with great success in the most challenging engineering endeavors. We understand the current state of the art and the cost/performance trade-offs in optical design and manufacturing technology.
Typical components of our optical design process include: requirement definition, trade space definition/study, lens design and tolerancing, scheduling activities, verification test plan, measurement methodology, project management, risk assessment and mitigation, and documentation. On some projects we bring in affiliates with relevant technical knowledge. All required resources are factored into the proposal and managed by Optimesa. This approach matches the appropriate expertise with a given project to ensure the best value for our clients.
Industry standard software tools are used in the design, optimization, and tolerancing processes. For optical design our primary tools are CodeV, Zemax, FRED, and ASAP. For opto-mechanical design we use SolidWorks. Custom algorithms are sometimes warranted for special cases or to augment fidelity. CAE/CAD tools are used in conjunction to optimize system performance while working within volume and weight constraints. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is used to analyze designs for mechanical and thermal performance. We provide sophisticated tolerance analysis to determine the interaction of all components in the design to ensure the highest manufacturing yield and meet cost targets.
Optimesa provides turnkey manufacturing solutions through established relationships with the leading optical fabrication suppliers. The procurement process can often be streamlined by working with a single supplier that provides the design, analysis, and tested hardware. All steps in this process undergo comprehensive oversight.
